HELP!! Back Labor????

Okay, I am asking for your help. Has anyone that reads this, had back labor? I have had 10 children and have NEVER had my back feel like this. It started about 24 hours ago. It really never goes away but sometimes is so bad I can hardly walk or sit! My body has been so weird the last week and just seems to stall out and I never go into to full blown labor but this back thing is making me wonder even more so if I need to do something. I am only 5 minutes from the hospital so I have just been waiting it out. If anyone has ever had back labor, did it start out slow like I have been describing or was it like uterine contractions in the front where once they started, it got worse and worse? Yes, even after 10 kids, I still don't know what I am doing! :) I may go in and see what is going on if I do not have less pain soon, but please leave any advice you can share!

Thank you!

Hi! I had horrible back labor with two of my kids. I would have the contraction in the front, but the worst pain of my life was in my back...it literally took me to my knees. My back would hurt constantly, but each contraction would bring that awful pain. If I were you, I would go in and get checked, especially since you were already at 5 cm. :)

Take care, and good luck!

If you are still checking comments, please do this: Get on all fours. Hands and knees. Then arch your back and sway your back as you feel the contractions. It should feel better to arch your back up with the contraction, and sway your back after it passes. Just keep trying these. You can also do them standing up: Hold onto a chair and arch you back out as the contraction tightens and completely relax your back as the contraction passes. GOD BLESS YOU!

I have had back labor with all 11 of my labors. I have found the most comforting thing to be sitting in the tub when at all possible. This helps take the weight off of your back. Look forward to hearing of your newest blessing:)
